Empowering the Youth of Bangladesh Through Life Skills and Opportunities.

Gazipur, December 16, 2024 – Light Up Bangladesh has proudly launched its groundbreaking 3-month Comprehensive Life Skills Training Program, aimed at empowering youth aged 15 to 25 from low-income, garment-based communities. The program’s inaugural ceremony took place at the Learning Center of Konabari Ideal High School in Gazipur, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s journey toward sustainable youth development.

This free, career-focused training program has already enrolled 21 participants in its first batch. Participants received official ID cards during the launch, symbolizing their first step into a transformative journey toward personal leadership, employability, and entrepreneurial skills. This initiative is a unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunity, inviting sponsorship from local and international organizations. The grand launch event was sponsored by the PATA Bangladesh Chapter, the local arm of the world’s largest travel and tourism network, renowned for promoting sustainable destinations.

The program was co-sponsored by Quartz Consultancy Ltd. as the Knowledge Partner, Absolute Ltd. as the Strategic Partner, Shalbon Eco Resort as the Hospitality Partner, and Studio MV as the Creative, PR, and Digital Partner. Prominent figures attending the event included Mr. Matthew J. Yang, Vice President of Light Up Bangladesh, and Md. Saiful Islam, Founder and Executive Director. Representatives from sponsor organizations, local stakeholders, and community leaders were also present to support this remarkable initiative . The first batch of this intensive training program will commence on January 3, 2025, with ongoing registration for additional participants. Light Up Bangladesh aims to empower 100 youth by the end of 2025, fostering brighter futures through skill development aligned with the demands of today’s job market.
